April Fools’ Day – it’s one of my favorite days of the year, and I try to celebrate it by pulling off a prank that may trick a few people, and this year was no different.
Just like last year, I used the Nextdoor platform as the basis for my prank, posting the following headline and request:
Looking for commercial fence contractor
As many of you may know, Radnor Township recently changed its zoning laws to allow for small backyard animal sanctuaries. As a fan of such sanctuaries, I am planning to set one up for the oft-maligned alligator. However, according to the township regulations, in order to keep alligators in a resident’s backyard, the homeowner must install at least a 10-foot tall commercial grade steel fence. If anyone knows of a contractor that installs such fences, please let me know. For those of you who are interested, here is more info on these types of sanctuaries:

and this is where the link brought them:

Happy April Fools’ Day!
The first reply was from a neighbor recommending a fence contractor!
But the second reply was quite clever:
Won’t the alligators become agitated by the helicopters landing there?
This was in reference to lat year’s April Fools’ Day post where I asked for a contractor to build a helipad in my backyard.
The rest of the replies were kind acknowledgements of my attempt at humor.
So now I have a whole year to start thinking of a prank for the Next April Fools’ Day, but most likely I’l start panicking a couple days beforehand trying to come up with something.
In the meantime, my favorite April Fools’ Day prank that I saw was Google Map’s use of Where’s Waldo.
